In keeping with his companies infamous slogan, of Using Art Form to Transform, Pierce found initial success with his
first stage play entitled My Man and My Child; a production about a mother who struggles with making the choice between
receiving the love of a no good man, and the needs of her son.
The two-show run was a hit with a sold out audience, and later went on to garner 1,000 DVD sales, reinforcing the idea that his wholesome productions, are definitely filling a void in theater.
In his latest play, which opens at Stepping Stone Theater this September 17- 19, he’ll premiere a show entitled For the Sake
of the Children; a gospel play starring Minneapolis songstress Timotha Lanae, Lil G from Silk, and Isaac Keys from TV One’s show “The Ultimate Merger,” a reality dating show starring Omarosa.
For the Sake of the Children is a play centered on Denise (Lanae)
a single mother with three children, by all different fathers, who
struggles with balancing her responsibilities as a parent and her
addiction to drugs.
“Anyone who has an addiction, whether it be food, drugs,
clothing or an addiction to themselves, they don’t realize that
they have a problem. What we want to do is show people, how
one persons problem can affect the entire family.” Pierce lets on.
Pierce himself makes an appearance in the production in the role of
Grandpa, the foundation of the family and the one person who can
bring them all back together.
With seats already filling up, and a myriad of other projects in the
works, Pierce is proving one play after another, that his second
chance at finding his foundation, is the only chance he needs to
inspire the world.
“For the Sake of the Children” runs September 17 h – 19th
at Stepping Stone Theater in St. Paul. Tickets are $25 in
advance, $30 at the door, $45 for limited VIP seating. For more

Not many of us have the drive or the audaciousness to step up
to the batters plate and swing at the pitch when it’s delivered.
Fingers pressed against the glass, and staring in the face of
possibility is sometimes an easier street to travel, unless the
protuberance in the road comes telling you that you’re definitely
on the wrong path to greatness.
For one such playwright named William Pierce, the burden of
not exacting his dreams became a thicker plight than running on
quicksand.
Choosing to go against the grain of his past; claiming a new life,
and new beginning after forty years of living, lead him to finding
mercy in his circumstances, and a pivotal role as the Twin Cities
newest attaché to urban entertainment.
Second Chance Productions, founded in 2008 by Pierce, was
designed to present a unique voice on the dramatic arts platform
by creating bodies of work that utilize everyday issues facing the
African American demographic in an effort to inspire, transform,
and promote change in our community.
In great respect, his gospel shows seemingly take the audience
to “church,” due to his richly Christian undertones, and the
spiritual elements that graze the context of his storylines.
By choosing to uplift his audience with God as apart of the
equation, Pierce has discovered a way to respectfully impart his
faith on viewers, without being pushy and still providing them with
entertaining and rich narratives.
“My company Second Chance Productions tries to present art form to people that will inspire them, educate them, and encourage them to transform into the people that they desire to be, regardless
of their past or the things they are dealing with today, whether it is financial, mental or physical,” he says, ”Everyone deserves a
second chance at life, and we want to allow them the opportunity to realize that, and encourage them to take advantage of it.”
