KANDI is a Grammy Award winning singer/songwriter/producer/actress and entrepreneur who has 56 million CDs sold to date -- 14 platinum and 17 gold discs -- attached to her name. In addition, Kandi made history by being the first woman to win ASCAP’s Rhythm & Soul Awards as “Songwriter of the Year.” KANDI rose to stardom during her journey with her former group Xscape who released three consecutive multi-platinum discs. In late 1998, the group split, however Kandi focused on her career as a songwriter. She earned her first #1 single, penning R&B trio TLC’s smash hit “No Scrubs” and went on to write hit songs for Destiny’s Child (“Bills, Bills, Bills” and “Bug-A-Boo”) and for the likes of superstars such as Justin Timberlake, Pink, Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men. Kandi has a weekly blog with Interactive One’s “Hello Beautiful,” is the host of her own online TV show via Ustream called “Kandi Koated Nights,” and has a prosperous boutique called T.A.G.S in her hometown of Atlanta. Most recently, Kandi has gone on to be the most favored cast member as an Atlanta Housewife.
