Patrick Harris and Kristin Chenoweth until the new judge Ellen DeGeneres arrived. Even the arrival of Ellen as the new judge, caused many to wonder will this season hold a torch to the previous years?

The season 9 contestants’ performance was no different from the actual show. There were performances that brought the crowd to their feet and left them wanting more and there were performances that really didn’t get the crowd moving and left the audience again saying the ever so famous, “ wrong choice of song for you.” Andrew Garcia’s performance proved to be very consistent. His voice, ability to be creative and make songs his own, along with his great stage presence may take just a little of the lime light from the winner Lee DeWyze. Lee Dewyze also gave a great performance along with Katie Stevens and Aaron Kelly. Big Mike Lynch has a great voice but there is nothing different about him that makes him standout from other great singers and we all know these days you have to be more than just great.

The season 9 ratings were lower the previous year’s rating. Many thought this was due to the Kris Allen and Adam Lambert head to head race to the finish line, and many watched just to see how Adam Lambert could pull off singing any genre of music looking like Alice Cooper.

The drama has already begun for season 10 with Simon Cowell leaving the cast of judges. This only leaves one to wonder, is this the end of American Idol?
